In a way, university is an act of
masochism.
I once had a conversation with my first year advisor where he basically admitted, "Yeah, there's no real reason you guys have to learn a lot of this stuff. We give you a lot of the material just to see if you guys can take it." This basically means that I pay them money so that they can inflict various forms of torture on me to test my intellectual / physical endurance..... and I actually enjoy it sometimes (sounds kind of masochistic to me).
I'm just kidding though. I enjoy university life, and a lot of the courses are quite enlightening. The workload seems positively cruel at times though. For instance, right now I'm trying to brush up on my SQL programming because I have an interview for a DB2 advanced technology position tomorrow (the job sounds really interesting!) while simultaneously doing circuits homework that I must finish within the next few hours because I have an economics class from 7-10 (...all this on 4 hours of sleep).
So busy.... yet, I'm sitting here updating my website... I'm just taking a break, that's all. Really!
BTW, this is what it looked like outside my house on Oct. 6.
A snow storm in early October?
Ok, I guess that's enough
venting for me.
Take care everyone
